Everyone has someone uniquely special in their heart. For me, that is my nephew, Yu Cheng (whom we call "Di Di 弟弟" at home).

Born on Valentine’s Day 2020, he was a quiet, sweet baby. To pair with his sister Penny, I wanted a 'D' name, and his zodiac sign, the Rat, inspired me to choose a mouse to represent him and name him Danny. Sadly, just seven months later on October 8, he became a little angel.

In Mandarin, his name "Yu Cheng (禹丞)" sounds just like "rainy morning." The phrase for a rainy morning, 「雨天的早晨」(Yǔtiān de zǎochen), begins with "Yu" (雨) and ends with "Cheng" (晨), echoing his name, Yu Cheng — which was exactly what the weather was like on the morning we said our final goodbye.

Born from deep longing, "a mouse named Danny on a rainy morning" keeps his memory alive. Here, he can be anyone and go anywhere — a brief life, but an everlasting bond of love.
